Real estate loans: rates at 1% are over, the rise has begun


After several years of low rates, the rise has begun once more.

A few weeks ago, the banks were reassuring and had no reason to anticipate a rise in rates on mortgage loans. But, over the past month, the situation has changed. “It even started in January, with a slight tremor that did not, however, suggest the rise, which is very real today. In the past, too, we have seen rates rise slightly and then fall once more, but this time the situation is completely different”explains Renaud Delpierre, credit broker. “It’s very simple, I have never seen such a rise in rates in such a short time for more than ten years. In some banks, we are talking regarding a 0.50% increase depending on the profile, and this in the space of just 3 weeks.”
