Born in Amsterdam, he was practically born with the ball. Mom Aretha and dad Ryan Sr. also kicked. Just like his big brother Danzell (28), who now plays in the 2nd division at De Graafschap.

At the age of eight, Bayern’s dream Dutchman switched to Ajax. At just 16 years and 130 days, Gravenberch replaced Holland legend Clarence Seedorf (45) in 2018 as the youngest debutant in the Eredivisie. Three days later he meets for the first time for the pros. This makes him the youngest goalscorer in Ajax history!

In the current season, the youngster is one of the regulars, scoring two goals in 37 competitive games and preparing six more.

His role model: Zinedine Zidane (49)! Gravenberch: “I’m trying to imitate him a little.”

His strengths: Calm on the ball, very disciplined – also backwards, athletically good overview, strong in tackles, good technique, extremely ambitious.

Many experts already compare Gravenberch with France world champion Paul Pogba (29).

His weaknesses: too harmless (11 goals and 13 assists in 98 competitive games for Ajax) and impetuous in counter-pressing.

Nevertheless, a great future is predicted for the central midfielder in his home country.

Journalist Jeroen Kaptains (“The Telegraph”) at BILD: “He’s one of the greatest Ajax talents ever. He has what it takes for Bayern, is mentally very strong, has the qualities of a leader and is very versatile.”
