The Food and Drug Authority commented on Pfizer’s withdrawal of a shipment of a drug to treat high blood pressure.
The authority explained that it is following up the withdrawal orders and warnings issued by the international regulatory bodies and organizations, stressing that in the event of any product being withdrawn, the safety of the operations marketed to the Kingdom is immediately checked, and appropriate action is taken and circulated to health authorities or a warning to the public if any defect is proven.
And there were news circulating regarding Pfizer’s withdrawal of shipments of the drug Accuretec to treat blood pressure, and of two cheaper, authorized versions of the drug, due to the presence of high levels of nitrosamine in the form of impurities that might cause cancer.
