Xiaomi has never been done with the Redmi 10 series of smartphones. After launching the Redmi 10 2022 which is the same device that was released last year, the company has unveiled the Redmi 10C. It is curious that the device was launched in India as a new variant of the Redmi 10. This device, as opposed to the 2022 edition, has a distinctive design and its own set of specifications including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. Now, the device was a statement In Malaysia as the Redmi 10C. Without further ado, let’s see what makes this phone stand out.
Alleged Redmi 10C specifications
If you have been following the Redmi 10 launch in India, the specifications of the Redmi 10C should not be a mystery. The smartphone features a 6.71-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. Moreover, there is a water drop notch at the top of the screen for taking selfies. The Redmi phone has a 5MP camera inside the hole. One of the downsides to this phone is that the panel refreshes at a low 60Hz.
Moving to the back, the phone has a dual camera setup. It consists of a 50MP main camera sensor and a 2MP depth snapper. There is an LED flash inside the camera unit. The back also serves as a home for the fingerprint scanner. It is worth noting that it also supports AI Face Unlock through the selfie camera. The phone features a plastic body that saves some costs, and there is a Realme-style finish. Even the main camera has a distinctive design with the camera module and fingerprint scanner housed in the same black island. It is similar to the Realme Narzo 50 series.
Under the hood, the Redmi 10C packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. The processor is paired with 4GB of RAM and has 128GB of internal storage. Users can increase the storage space via a micro SD card. The phone retains the 3.5mm headphone jack. For those unaware, this chipset is a revamped Snapdragon 665 with a 6nm manufacturing process. Hence, it is more energy efficient than its predecessor. The GPU is a regular Adreno 619 that can handle modern games but don’t expect the highest settings or the most stable frame rates.
Pricing and availability
Redmi 10C is available in Malaysia. There, the single variant with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage costs INR 10,999. The phone comes in graphite gray, light green, and ocean blue colors.
