Speedrunners are faster than developers FromSoftware at “nerfing”. Just recently, the creators of Elden Ring nerfed several moves that allowed speedrunners to defeat difficult bosses in seconds. But where one door closes, the next opens. Thanks to a “Zip Glitch”, there is now another one new Elden Ring speed run record.
The “Zip Glitch” is still not well understood even by the players who use it, but basically it’s regarding guarding the “W” key on the keyboard with eagle eyes and then typing. Macros already exist to make using the zip glitch a bit easier, but other than that it’s up to the player to determine the correct cadence of keystrokes.
The end result is teleporting great distances and crossing previously impassable gaps. This way you can get to your destination faster and don’t have to walk around for long.
Completed the Elden Ring in 25 minutes and 29 seconds
Thanks to this zip glitch, the player Distortion2 brings together the new record of just over 25 minutes. Impressive. However, the record might be ruled out for a leaderboard submission, since the glitch is very hardware dependent and also very random. FromSoftware will also likely fix this error once they find it.
Probably he will new speedrun record for Elden Ring will soon be 20 minutes. We stay tuned!

Elden Ring: Speedruns are getting shorter and shorter!
Elden Ring Speedruns are getting faster and faster. Last week were still 2 hours a fantastic achievement. The record was quickly reduced to one hour only to have ended up under 30 minutes. Only the question remains: How fast can you play through Elden Ring?
Funnily enough, it was the same player who broke his own record. with 28 minutes and 59 seconds hat Distortion2 made incredible progress Complete Elden Ring in record time.
The player launched his first Elden Ring Speedrun just four days ago at 49 minutes, just following another speedrunner broke the one-hour barrier. Distortion2 followed that 49-minute run with a 33-minute run just yesterday to claim the current world record.
Distortion2 beats its own record by a whopping 20 minutes
“If I’m under 29 [Minuten] I’d be relatively happy.” says Distortion2 right at the beginning. He then shows an almost perfect run with very few mistakes. For those who don’t know, it works “Speed Running” in Elden Ring mostly by simply dodging fights. There are a few intentional deaths that can be used to bypass parts of the map.
Also, there is a trick to save the game and skip some cutscenes. Apart from that, it takes a lot of skill to tackle the required bosses.
Elden Ring Speedrun: When will the next record be broken?
Thus, Distortion2 has shown great skill and defeated the “Elden Beast” faster than some pizza delivery service comes. Will Distortion2 Elden Ring finish even faster? Or how soon will someone break their 28-minute record? We’ll probably find out soon.
Elden Ring is now available for Windows PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One and PS4.
