Today, on its campus in Masdar City, the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence celebrated the graduation of the first batch of Executive Program members.
Forty-one leading figures from the government and business sectors from across the UAE participated.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Professor Eric Zing, President of the University, Professor Emeritus Kray, Dean of the University, along with Mansour Al-Mansoori, Chief Operating Officer of G42 and a member of the University’s Board of Trustees.
Smart solutions to urgent challenges
The first batch of graduates included CEOs, General Managers, Ambassadors, and Executive Vice Presidents from a range of institutions in the UAE, as participants completed 12 weeks of hands-on courses, lectures and intensive collaborative projects to graduate from the program.
The university had launched the Executive Program in September 2021 in support of the efforts of the UAE government and business sectors to unleash the full potential of artificial intelligence techniques and employ its practical applications to find solutions to the most pressing challenges at the national level.
The members of the first batch collaborated to develop proposals that include a range of innovative solutions, including a platform supported by artificial intelligence capabilities to enhance accuracy and cost-efficiency in employee performance evaluations; A solution focused on advancing progress in the UAE’s goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2050; A solution that aims to diagnose cardiovascular diseases at an early stage with the aim of reducing mortality rates and limiting critical and high-cost medical interventions to save the lives of patients, which are burdens suffered by citizens and medical facilities alike.
Participants had the opportunity to interact directly with the best trainers around the world from reputable academic institutions, including the University of California at Berkeley, Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Oxford, while the university is keen to put its touch in the program to make its educational experience unique in the world.
Establish a creative community
On this occasion, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, said: “The Executive Program confirms the commitment of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence to contribute to the implementation of the vision of the wise leadership by establishing a society that includes the best innovators in future innovations, and graduating Leadership competencies capable of contributing to the achievement of the strategic goals of the UAE and its national priorities.
He added: “I congratulate all graduates on this outstanding achievement, as the skills and knowledge they have acquired will provide the opportunity to benefit from innovative artificial intelligence solutions within their organizations and enhance their performance and competitive potential. The integration of artificial intelligence applications in the public and private sectors represents a qualitative step that supports the vision of our wise leadership and achieve strategic goals. For his part, Professor Eric Zing said: “Artificial intelligence knowledge is an essential element to lead many strategic government initiatives in the UAE towards success and progress, but knowing how to use its technologies in a responsible manner and designing policies that support its ethical uses is an obstacle to progress, so we are keen in Our Executive Program provides students with a set of useful practical tools and skills that they can use today and pass on to the next generation in the future.”
The program included visits to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company “ADNOC”; Emirates Post Group; achievements/”G42″; Fintech Hive in the Dubai International Financial Center; the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics; And the General Organization of the Zoo and Aquarium in Al Ain.
The field visits aimed to identify how artificial intelligence is applied in these institutions, and then model studies were used to launch a brainstorming session on how participants can use artificial intelligence applications in their organizations.
