CD Projekt RED PR Director Radek Grabowski clarified information regarding the new game in the Witcher universe, which the studio announced on March 21. He drew attention to the fact that many media outlets misinterpreted the studio’s announcement, which might mislead their readers.
What we did NOT announce today:
— the game will be called ”The Witcher 4”;
– the game will become an exclusive for some trading platform.
According to Grabowski, the upcoming game will be a “new saga” in the Witcher franchise. At the same time, the studio has not yet come to the final concept of the plot, characters or gameplay mechanics. It is possible that the new game will have nothing to do with Geralt and Ciri.
Earlier, CD Projekt RED studio officially confirmed that it had begun work on a new game in the Witcher universe. It will be made on the Unreal Engine 5 engine from Epic Games, and not on its own REDengine, which the studio used in previous titles. There are no other details regarding the project yet.
