On Monday around 4:20 p.m., a Citroën Berlingo and an Opel Spitzer collided almost head-on on rue de Limoy, between Andoy and Loyers.
The driver of the Opel was traveling in the direction of Loyers and lost control of his vehicle. It slipped more than 20 meters at the exit of a bend and might not be avoided by the driver of the Berlingo. A third car, which was following the Opel, also crashed into it.
The consequences are serious: the two people who occupied the car and one of the two on board the van are seriously injured. On Monday evening, the days of the Opel passenger, a 14-year-old boy, were in danger. The second occupant of the van was also injured, but less seriously. The driver of the third car is unharmed.
The four victims were rescued by firefighters from Namur, under the orders of Captain Olivier Gilson, and taken care of by ambulances from firefighters from Namur, Andenne and the Red Cross. The SMURs of Namur and Godinne and a helicopter from the Heliported Medical Center of Bra-sur-Lienne also intervened for the teenager. The road was closed to traffic by the Namur police during the operations. The prosecution sent its expert Benoît Quevrain to the scene to determine the causes of the accident, while the repairman Jérôme Loriers evacuated the three damaged vehicles.
