National strike of carriers is announced for this Tuesday

The Mexican Alliance of Organization of Carriers (AMOTAC) reported that this Tuesday its members will carry out a national strike, as well as a manifestation along the country’s highways due to the lack of response to security and economic demands.

The AMOTAC announced that the protest will begin at 08:00 hours and that if they do not find a way to dialogue with the authorities, they will begin a mobilization towards the Mexico City.

At petition sheet released by the organization highlight requests for security on the roads, replacement for cargo and tourism vehicles, official rates for transportation, an end to abuses of authority and a reduction in the cost of highways.

“We regret the inconvenience and traffic caused on the country’s roads, but our authorities force us to take these actions due to their lack of interest and commitment to our sector,” they said in a statement.

Other of the demands They are the reclassification of national highways, a longer term for the complement of the Porte Document, reduction of fuel prices and no more taxes for the transport sector.
