The Head of State will take part in the 9th World Water Forum which will take place from March 21 to 26 under the theme: “Water Security for Peace and Development”. Denis Sassou Nguesso is taking part in the 9th World Water Forum which opened this Monday, March 21 in the Senegalese capital Dakar. The President of the Congolese Republic began a working trip to Dakar, Senegal, this Sunday, March 20. He was welcomed at the foot of the plane by his Senegalese counterpart Macky Sall. In the Senegalese capital, Denis Sassou Nguesso will take part in the 9th World Water Forum which will take place from March 21 to 26 under the theme: “Water Security for Peace and Development “. The Congolese Head of State will be alongside his peers and around 30,000 other participants, including economic decision-makers, multilateral institutions and academics. Civil society and the private sector are also expected at this largest international event on water. These meetings will focus on water and sanitation security, water for rural development, cooperation as well as tools and means including the crucial issues of financing, governance, knowledge management and innovations in hydraulics. This forum has been organized every three years since 1997 by the World Water Council, in partnership with a host country and city.
