Two years in prison for assaulting his stepdaughter

A man was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by three years of probation, Monday morning at the Sherbrooke courthouse, following his conviction for sexually assaulting his stepdaughter when she was a minor.

Pedophile Robert Bouchard repeatedly assaulted Sabrina Turcotte when she was between 8 and 14 years old. The victim, now 32, has agreed to lift the ban on publication of his name to reveal his identity.

Ms. Turcotte had filed a complaint in 2017, following her mother married her stepfather, despite the fact that she was aware of the actions taken by the man.

This complaint and denunciation had the effect of causing the breakdown of the extended family.

Sabrina Turcotte, who is the mother of a little girl, chose to denounce her attacker in order to protect her own child and because she might no longer live with the shame and the responsibilities that did not belong to her.

His mother testified in favor of her spouse during the trial, which made the proceedings even more difficult:

“This rejection and this abandonment of my mother, the denial that she and her spouse still show today, it is as if I was attacked once more” explained the victim.

Robert Bouchard has already filed an appeal once morest the decision of judge Claire Desgens who found him guilty of sexual assault last June.

He then went to prison on Monday morning following the sentencing, approved by the judge following a joint suggestion from the lawyers.
