Paul McCartney contacted Keith Richards after calling the Stones a ‘cover band’

A new TV series will soon be released on Netflix, and this one will revolve around the legendary group U2.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, JJ Abrams (Star Wars) will actually be in charge of this new project under the sign of his production company Bad Robot Production.

It was also revealed that the series will be written by Anthony McCarten, who previously worked on Queen’s biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

As The Hollywood Reporter explains, the members of U2 will be involved in this project and will have a say in the final result.

Moreover, Bono recently admitted that he initially hated the name of the group as well as the majority of their catalog.

The musician actually revealed on the Awards Chatter podcast that he turns off the radio when he hears a U2 song because he has such a hard time listening to his voice.

The singer – whose real name is Paul Hewson – also confessed that he still hasn’t made up his mind on behalf of the band.

“I really don’t like it,” he said. “But I have a bit of dyslexia. I didn’t realize the Beatles name was a bad pun either. In our minds it was like a spy plane, the U-boat, it was futuristic But I still don’t like that name. Our former manager Paul McGuinness told us, “Listen, that’s a good name. It will look cool on a t-shirt, letter and number.”
