Shobhana will be on the dance floor on her birthday; In memory of Lalitha-Padmini-Ragini, Sobhana Dance, Surya Festival, Tribute to Ragini Padmini Lalitha Travancore sisters

Thiruvananthapuram: After the break completed by Kovid, Shobhana arrives on the stage of Surya with a dance amazement. Monday at 6.45pm at AKG. Bharatanatyam will be performed by actress Shobhana and company at the center. Shobhana’s birthday is on Monday.

Three years later, on her birthday, she also dances at the Surya Festival. After Kovid, Surya will be performing her first public dance performance at a public venue in Thiruvananthapuram.

Shobhana said in a press conference that she is happy to be back on Surya’s stage.

There have been 25 dance performances at the Surya Festival. With the arrival of Kovid, there was a break to get to the festival. Lalitha-Padmini-Ragini, her father’s sisters and also known as the Travancore Sisters, will be on stage.

Bharatanatyam is a combination of traditional dance and fusion. The event will last more than an hour.

Thiruvananthapuram has a very good audience. Shobhana said that a very beautiful dance form will be performed for them on Monday.

Thiruvananthapuram is a favorite place of its own. It’s like getting home when you get here. The temples and the greenery are always on my mind. Dance might not be performed at the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple. But wherever the dance is performed in Thiruvananthapuram, the spirit of the temple is felt.

Memorial for Travancore sisters under discussion

Shobhana said plans were afoot to build a memorial for Travancore sisters Lalitha, Padmini and Ragini. Padminiamma has said that she has not received the recognition she deserves. The monument is to be built but cannot be done alone. Shobhana said the government’s help would also be needed.
