Kompany after the defeat in Ghent: “I have the impression that it will still move, Ghent or Antwerp will lose points”

Anderlecht is out of the top 4 following their defeat in Ghent 1-0. Yet it is a Vincent Kompany lucid who showed up for the interview. The Anderlecht coach first returned to the meeting and the lack of efficiency at the microphone ofEleven Pro League :

It’s football and the time of the season where efficiency is important. We talked regarding it before the game. We had our moments, more than Gantoise. But Ghent played well and on the only chance they had in the second half, they made the difference. We can’t score and we get caught. It’s football, I’ve experienced it quite regularly in my career. But I have the feeling that something is still going to happen. There is a team that will drop points and we have to believe in it.

Belgium is the only country which has as a rule that the goal average does not matter.

With two games still to play, Vincent Kompany does not intend to let go, even if it will be necessary to count on a misstep from Ghent or Antwerp, the Mauves goal average being useless: “Belgium is the only country which has as a rule that the goal average has no importance, it means that we can do what we want, we no longer have our destiny in our hands. We just have to win our matches and I’m still convinced that Ghent or Antwerp will drop something. There should be no regrets in giving everything. We will also have revenge to take in the final of the Belgian Cup.

If Vincent Kompany judges that everything should not be called into question, it will however be necessary to count on a little luck: “Neither Antwerp nor Ghent have had easy matches lately. And we have to prepare for the Cup final too. We will take what comes, it’s a shame but it’s football unfortunately.

Next Sunday, Anderlecht receives Charleroi and will have to hope that Antwerp lose points at OHL and that Ghent loses at Cercle Brugge.
