Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Kuwaiti Islamic preacher, Tariq Al-Suwaidan, who is considered one of the faces of the Muslim Brotherhood in the Gulf, sparked a wide interaction among activists on social media, following statements he made stressing that he was “not with the revolutions.”

This came in an interview with Al-Suwaidan with Oman’s Hala FM radio, where he said: “With the waves of the Arab Spring and with the tumult that was in it, many of our opinions did not reach people clearly, especially in light of the fact that we were media warriors to communicate our opinion..”
And Al-Suwaidan continued in the interview that the radio published on its Twitter page, Friday, saying: “I say it clearly, I am not with the revolutions. I believe that revolutions lead to destruction and lead to destruction that leads to misfortunes for peoples. After any revolution, people go through an average of 13 years of instability.” This is the average, some countries are more and some countries are less.

He added: “Some people thought that I am with the revolutions, no, we are not with the revolutions, we are with the dignity of peoples, with the freedom of peoples, with respect for their rights, and now these revolutions have taken place and I have no role in making them and I have no role in supporting them financially or with weapons, I do not have No role in it, I did not go into this at all…”

Al-Suwaidan continued, “As a public figure, the general public asks me what is your position on these peoples who moved towards liberation? I cannot not stand with the peoples, I must be peoples who moved towards dignity and honor. I have no choice but to stand with them..”
