Apple reveals why the mysterious hole in Mac Studio is needed

Apple plans to release a similar Kensington lock to protect Mac Studio from theft, reports MacRumors.

Some journalists noticed a strange hole on the bottom of the Mac Studio. This is definitely not a USB-C port, although they are similar in shape. There is no information regarding this connector on the Apple website.

In a service email to employees, Apple said it will soon introduce a lock that Mac Studio owners can use to protect their computers from theft.

The company has already released similar accessory for Mac Pro in 2014. It was attached to the bottom of the computer and blocked the lid opening mechanism. [MacRumors]
