Because of the Red Cross’s overloaded drive-in test stations, Styrians can temporarily only test themselves with PCR home gargle tests. The Red Cross can no longer make appointments for the time being: “Because of the persistently high number of infections, the test capacities for testing suspected cases, which have the highest priority, are exhausted,” said state rescue commander Peter Hansak on Saturday in a broadcast from the communication Land Steiermark.
After five days of quarantine at the earliest
Those who have already registered for the official free test will be informed by SMS that it is currently not possible to make an appointment. Persons who have been isolated can therefore, if they wish, test themselves before the end of the quarantine stipulated in the notification only with the home gargle test.
If you don’t have home gargle tests at home, you can have someone who is not in quarantine bring them for you. The prerequisite for carrying out the tests is that you have been symptom-free for at least 48 hours. The free test can take place at the earliest from the fifth day following the start of the quarantine. The exact day from which a free test is possible is listed in the notification of separation.
Gargling with video
In any case, the home gargle test must be carried out with video. A person of trust must then take the sample to a drop-off location and throw it in. In order for the quarantine to be lifted early, following the successful PCR gargling test has been transmitted, the test certificate must be uploaded to covid.stmk.gv.at by entering the reference number of the decision and the date of birth, emphasized the state of Styria.
