Jorge Rodríguez, president of the 2020 National Assembly and head of the ruling party’s negotiating delegation, categorically assured this Friday that they will not meet with Juan Guaidó. He accused him of being a “drug trafficker.”

“We are not going to meet with Juan Guaidó. We do not meet with drug traffickers. We put drug traffickers in prison, “Rodríguez said during a broadcast in which he referred to the Italian-Venezuelan Biaggio Garafolo, who was captured in Colombia for drug trafficking crimes.

According to Rodríguez, this subject represents a link between Guaidó and Colombian drug trafficking for having been part of Voluntad Popular.

Garafolo was arrested in Cartagena on March 13, according to Migración Colombia. Against the man weighs an arrest warrant issued through Interpol.

Dialogue

Rodríguez previously stated that the dialogue must include all sectors of the opposition, or the process will be doomed to failure.

«It seems that due to a kind of exclusionary attitude one can only argue with someone, I don’t know from what height, decides that this is the opposition with which they are going to argue. That would doom any negotiation process or any political dialogue process to failure,” he said during the ordinary session of Parliament on Thursday.

And he added: “If one goes to a process of this type, whoever is left out can, with all rights, bombard or say that it is not a valid dialogue process.”
