At the national level, this figure rises to 81%, when it reaches 85% in the United States. These figures reflect the financial situation of households, whereas it is in Quebec that we have the best results. Indeed, 74% of people in the province believe that their finances are good, while the average is 67% in Canada and 68% among our neighbors to the south.

For nearly seven out of ten people in Quebec (72%), wages have increased less quickly than the rate of inflation. Thus, we note that La Belle Province is the place where wages have least followed the rise in the cost of living.

According to the Leger firm’s survey, inflation has had a major negative impact on groceries and gas prices. Thus, to counter inflation, Quebecers plan, among other things, to reduce food waste (88%), buy less expensive items at the grocery store (87%) and eat less often at restaurants (79% ).

It is also in Quebec that the purchase of an electric or hybrid vehicle is the most considered, while 43% see it as a means of coping with inflation, compared to 30% in Canada and 26% in the USA.
