Spaniard Rafael Nadal continued his perfect career since the beginning of this year and reached the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament, by defeating American Riley Opelka, in two sets without a response.
Nadal resisted, the American “giant” Obelka, who is 2.11 meters tall, in addition to his missile transmissions, some of which reached 140 kilometers per hour, to win 7-6, 7-6.
The 35-year-old, who won the Australian Open title in a new record for the number of “Grand Slam” tournaments (21 titles), raised his consecutive victories to 18 since the beginning of 2022.
Thanks to his victory over Opelka, Nadal scored his 401st victory in the 1,000-point Masters Championships, and continued his path to a fourth title in the Indian Wells Championship, which he previously crowned in 2007, 2009 and 2013.
Nadal will play in the next round with Australian Nick Kyrgios.
