With the many Star Wars series to come on Disney + and the return of mythical characters, Samuel L. Jackson is ready to return to the skin of Jedi Master Mace Windu.
The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett proved to us that anything was possible in the Star Wars universe with the return of mythical characters, such as Boba (Temuera Morrison) or Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).
And the last expected series on Obi-Wan Kenobi adds a layer since it puts back on the front of the stage the famous Jedi Master embodied by Ewan McGregor but also Anakin Skywalker become Darth Vader, camped by Hayden Christensen.
Another prequel actor recently let it be known that he too would be interested in returning to the Star Wars universe. This is Samuel L. Jackson, who played Jedi Master Mace Windu.
The actor recently confirmed on Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast that he even discussed the possibility with someone very involved in the Star Wars universe on Disney+, actress and director Bryce Dallas Howard. :
“There’s a history of one-handed characters coming back in Star Wars… The only person I talked to regarding coming back was Bryce Dallas Howard, because I just did a movie with her.
And she directs episodes of The Mandalorian, so I said to her, ‘Do you think you can date a brother? You adore me, don’t you?’. And she was like, ‘I love you, you’re amazing!’ And I was like, ‘Then take me back in there. Put me in the front line, I’m ready!’. Besides, I might learn to wield the lightsaber with my left hand. Come on, date me.”
Obviously, bringing Mace Windu back would be difficult since he was left for dead in Revenge of the Sith following his fight once morest Palpatine. But Samuel L. Jackson thinks his character got away with it and already thought a comeback was possible during an interview with Stephen Colbert in 2019 :
“There are one-handed guys who were Jedis, who have lightsabers and are still alive. Jedis can fall from incredible heights and not die, like cats.”
If Samuel L. Jackson gets his way and manages to get Mace Windu back in the new Star Wars serial universe, fans would be more than happy. They had already established theories regarding a potential comeback of the character in 2020 when the official Star Wars Instagram account had posted a photo of the actor for his birthday accompanied by a cryptic message: “The party isn’t over, it’s only just begun!”. So, will Mace Windu return?
