Lee Jun-seok, Democratic Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon, Seoul District Prosecutor’s Office Opposition, Second Punishment

Park Joo-min ‘Han Dong-hoon, special relationship with the elected person… “Fair investigation is guaranteed”

People’s Power Representative Lee Jun-seok criticized on the 17th that it was a “second offense” in relation to the voices from the Democratic Party of Korea calling for the appointment of Han Dong-hoon, deputy director of the Judicial Research and Training Institute, a close aide to President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol, to the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office.

In a Facebook post on the same day, CEO Lee wrote, “There is no personnel plan for Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon, but I don’t know what to do.”

Deputy Director Han is one of the ‘Yun Seok-yeol’ divisions who were demoted in conflict while investigating personnel related to the current government, including suspicions related to former Justice Minister Cho Kuk.

Representative Lee pointed out, “If a prosecutor has done something wrong in his official duties, he can claim exclusion.”

Then, he asked, “If a prosecutor who is good at investigations has suffered for several years in a job, I should be sorry, but is it a secondary offense to just think regarding it?”

Earlier, lawmaker Park Min-min, secretary of the Democratic Party of the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee, appeared on KBS Radio’s ‘Jin-woo Joo Live’ this evening and emphasized, “In the case of Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon, he has a very special relationship with the elected Yoon Seok-yeol.”

Rep. Park said, “The Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office is a place where a number of cases like this exist, including the case involving the elected President-elect Yoon himself and his spouse Kim Gun-hee. It has the potential to make it difficult to secure.”

Previously, in an interview with a media outlet, President-elect Yoon actually mentioned a deputy chief and said directly, “Isn’t it okay to become the head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office because I’ve suffered a lot of damage from this government?”
