Emirates News Agency – Khor Fakkan opens its doors to visitors of “Sharjah Heritage Days”

Sharjah, 17th March / WAM / The city of Khorfakkan has opened its doors to welcome its visitors in the activities of the 19th edition of the “Sharjah Heritage Days”, which is organized by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage under the slogan “Heritage and the Future”.

Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler’s Office in Kalba, accompanied by His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, President of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, witnessed the inauguration of the events yesterday evening in the Heritage Village in Khorfakkan in a festive ceremony in the presence of Khaled Al Shehhi, Director of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage Branch in Khorfakkan and senior officials from government departments The city’s local community and a wide audience of the city’s residents, lovers of heritage and folklore, and representatives of the participating work teams.

Khaled Al-Shehhi said that the activities, which will continue until March 20, will take place in two locations: the heritage village in Khorfakkan and the heritage Al Sidra neighborhood in the Luluiya area, with the aim of enabling everyone in the cities and regions of the eastern coast to benefit and attend the various events.

He pointed out that the agenda of the days program in Khorfakkan will be full of many paragraphs and competitions. On the cultural and academic level, a set of cultural café sessions will be held, and the educational and training program will be filled with a number of lectures and workshops. Local, Gulf and international folk groups will also participate in the yard of the Museum of Traditional Crafts with different dances and paragraphs, including Al-Razif, Al-Harbiyeh, Al-Habban, Al-Liwa, Al-Ayala, Al-Shuhuh and a popular band from the Sultanate of Oman.
