Meta (the parent company of Facebook) and Ray-Ban are launching their connected glasses in 4 new countries, including Belgium. The two companies also announced that this gadget, introduced as Ray-Ban Stories, will have new smart features and frame colors.
In addition to our country, the glasses will be available in France, Spain and Austria from this week, i.e. now in 10 countries. The “smartest” elements of the gadget are its built-in 5-megapixel dual camera for capturing photos and videos, but also its “open-ear” speakers and 3 built-in microphones.
No augmented reality
You can directly view the photos and videos you take with your glasses, and share them via the Facebook View application, available on iOS and Android. But that’s not all: you can also listen to music or make calls, using the touchpad or the capture button. Make no mistake, though: Ray-Ban Stories Smart Glasses are not augmented reality (AR) glasses. This toy is not that advanced!
Meta and Ray-Ban eyewear comes in 28 style, color and lens combinations. They are compatible with corrective lenses. The lenses can be completely transparent, but you can also choose polarized lenses type G15, gradient lenses and Transitions® Light Intelligent Lenses™ to go from one more or less bright environment to another without any problem.
The Ray-Ban Stories will be sold from 329 euros and delivered with a portable charging case.
