Gogoro Announces SuperSport Model with Next-Generation SSmartcore Electronic Control Core

Gogoro SuperSport

Gogoro today announced the next-generation electronic control core, named “SSmartcore”. This updates the electronic controller (ECU) and motor controller (MCU) that have not been changed since the launch of the Gogoro 2, in preparation for the next generation of vehicles. Gogoro today also released the first model with a new generation of SSmartcore core, named Gogoro SuperSport, allowing consumers to immediately experience the benefits of SSmartcore.

The main change of SSmartcore is to speed up the operation speed of both ECU and MCU, increase the memory space, and convert the throttle and brake that were originally connected to the ECU to directly connected to the MCU, so that the motor can be faster on the throttle Respond with the brakes. SSmartcore also increases the number of input/output ports of the controller area network (CAN bus), providing better hardware connectivity and peripheral expansion.

With enhanced ECU and MCU, SSmartcore will be able to provide three capabilities not available in previous models. First of all, it is the TCS tracking and anti-skid system, which uses real-time detection of the speed difference between the front and rear wheels. When the rear wheels are idling, TCS will immediately intervene and adjust the power output to stabilize the rear wheels to avoid slippage. Gogoro’s TCS system will also launch the “advanced version” (TCS Professional) setting in the future. Compared with the standard version, it intervenes immediately when the rear wheel slips. The advanced version of TCS retains more power output, allowing riders to be more Precise control between slip resistance and power output. Since TCS is completely built into SSmartcore, even if you don’t purchase a standard TCS model, you can “buy it yourself and upgrade it” through the online store later, becoming a new business model for locomotive functions.

The second function is cruise control mode, which allows you to start cruise control by pressing the electronic reverse accelerator button in the range of 10 km/h to 60 km/h. During the constant speed, you can refuel at any time to overtake, and when you release the accelerator, it will automatically drop back to the original set speed. To turn off cruise control, just pull the brake lightly. If it encounters ups and downs on the slope, its constant speed will not be affected by the slope. When going uphill, it will automatically increase the power output to maintain the vehicle speed, and when going downhill, the battery recharge function will be turned on in time to slow down.

The third function is the plug-in Gogoro Telematics Unit (GTU) module. This module has built-in 4G LTE communication function, so that basically as long as the locomotive receives the mobile phone signal, it can perform various remote functions including vehicle tipping warning, vehicle locking/unlocking, opening of the carriage, vehicle location inquiry and so on. In addition to gradually rolling out SSmartcore to Gogoro’s entire vehicle range, Gogoro also expects to make it available to all PBGN partners in the next two to three quarters.

At the same time announced today, is the first model equipped with SSmartcore, called Gogoro SuperSport, which can be regarded as the new flagship of the current Gogoro car series. In addition to SSmartcore, it also has a G2.2 aluminum alloy water-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motor, which provides a maximum power of 7.6kW and a top speed of 96 km/h. Its transmission is also a special FLO DRIVE Sport belt drive system, and is equipped with automotive-grade Class D LED headlights, and 14-inch front and 13-inch tires.

SuperSport is divided into three models. The SuperSport ACE is already equipped with ABS, TCS and LTE modules, and the price is NT$108,980; the SuperSport TCS is equipped with ABS and TCS, and the price is 99,980; while the SuperSport is only SBS, and the price is 99,980. . Of course, except for ABS/SBS that cannot be changed following leaving the factory, all others can be purchased separately.
