The national company Royal Air Maroc and the Israeli carrier El Al Israel Airlines signed, this Monday in Tel Aviv, a codeshare agreement (codeshare), during a ceremony, organized on the sidelines of the inaugural flight of Royal Air Maroc between Casablanca and Tel Aviv. In a press release, RAM indicates that this ceremony was chaired by its CEO Hamid Addou and Avigal Soreq, CEO of the Israeli company.

“The code sharing, effective today, will include, in a first phase, direct flights between Morocco and Israel operated by the two companies between Morocco and Israel”, announces the press release. He explains that El Al schedules regular flights linking Tel Aviv and Marrakech at the rate of three rotations per week while the RAM has just inaugurated its new direct air route linking Casablanca to Tel Aviv at the rate of four frequencies in a first time, rapidly increasing to five flights per week.

“This agreement will make it possible to offer customers of the two companies more options in terms of timetables and combinability between Marrakech, Casablanca and Tel-Aviv and will link the networks of the two companies with more fluid connections thanks to the possibility of end-to-end passenger and baggage check-in”, details the national airline, noting that this agreement is only a “first milestone in the cooperation of the two companies”.

“We are very pleased to conclude this important partnership with EL AL which will contribute to the reinforcement of our traffic, and will make it possible to offer our passengers a connection to additional destinations as well as a better customer journey thanks to the optimized connections and the operations of end-to-end check-in, with international assistance at the airports of the networks operated by the two companies,” said Hamid Addou, quoted by the press release.
