Apple released the official version of iOS 15.4 today (15th). In addition to the “unlocking with a mask” that the public expects, it also updated the support for the Universal Control function.

The biggest feature of the latest version of the update is the support for “mask unlocking”. Because the unlocking function is activated by identifying the position of the eyes and the non-mask area of the face, sunglasses or dark glasses cannot be worn. However, this feature is currently only available for iPhone 12 or later models.
Just enter “Settings”, go to “Face ID and Password”, and then enter “Mask Face ID” to set up. During the setting process, you need to take off the mask, keep your face parallel to the phone, and scan at a distance of 25-60 cm.
Additionally, the updated Universal Control allows users to wirelessly control the iPad simultaneously using the Mac’s keyboard and mouse. That means using the same keyboard, mouse or trackpad to work seamlessly between your Mac and iPad. But both devices must have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Handoff turned on, be updated to the latest versions of iPadOS 15.4 and macOS 12.3, and must be signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID.
Other features include AirTag anti-malicious tracking warnings, a more neutral Siri voice, 37 new emojis, and more. The new version of iOS will be released together with iPadOS 15.4 and macOS 12.3.
