One of the main features of new generation consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X is faster loading times and this key feature is coming to Grand Theft Auto 5 when it is re-released on the latest systems.
According to the tests we ran here at IGN, Grand Theft Auto 5 loads blazing fast on PlayStation 5, especially when compared to the PlayStation 4 version. The reboot process takes around 5 seconds to load, around 75% faster than on the PS4.
What’s particularly notable is how quickly autosaves load on PS5 compared to PS4. On the latest Sony console, GTA 5 saves files in around 20 seconds, while it takes over two minutes to load the same file on PS4.
Check out our load time comparison below to see the full results of our testing.
Along with faster loading times, GTA 5 comes with visual settings optimized for PS5 and Xbox Series X, including 4K with ray tracing at 30 fps or a performance mode optimized for 4K at 60 fps.
On PS5, GTA 5 will feature DualSense touch and other adaptive trigger feedback, as well as “high-end PC” visuals on consoles, including “increased population and traffic diversity, increased vegetation density, improved lighting quality from shadows, water reflections, and other elements.”
GTA 5 is currently available for preload and will cost $9.99 for PS5 for the first three months before rising to $39.99. For Xbox Series X | S price starts at $19.99 for the first three months before also climbing to $39.99.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is one of the most popular games of this generation and it’s regarding to hit stores once more following almost 10 years. But don’t worry, Rockstar has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in the works, although no further details on that are expected for now.
