The young singer was among the favorites to win the competition this year, but the teachers preferred Krystel to her last night during Variété. The other candidate in danger, Eloi, was saved by the public.

“I am extremely proud of my two friends. I’m proud of myself, too. It’s not a bitter taste. It would be lying to tell you that I am not disappointed, of course I would have liked to stay, I would have liked to have continued to sing (…)”, says Audrey-Louise in an interview with TVA Nouvelles.

Back at the Academy, director Lara Fabian had to take stock of the decision she made with Gregory Charles and Guylaine Tremblay.

“Tonight, from the moment Eloi was saved by the public, we watched the performances: yours [Krystel] and that of Audrey-Louise, which was also exceptional. The problem is that when you are faced with two exceptional people, you really have to adjust the line with the scalpel. And tonight, when you embodied this song, for all that you embodied… the choice was made that way,” Lara explained during her post-mortem.

“It is really extremely difficult for us to have committed ourselves to this choice, […] and we made this decision by virtue of the fact that the moment you deployed, it was absolutely unstoppable, irresistible, perfect and one of a kind. We saw someone appear, in your stature, in your bearing. It’s this kind of great moment that sometimes happens at the Grammys or the Oscars, it’s a bit like what you touched tonight. It is the grace that you have touched this evening, and it really deserved to be saved”, continues the director.

Early Monday followingnoon, online petition by one of his fans had already collected nearly 3000 signatures.

“It touches me a lot to see all this wave of love there from people. I’m doing this for them. It means that in the end, I won anyway, ”she adds.

Despite her early elimination, Audrey-Louise keeps smiling and promises to return to the Quebec music scene soon.

“I plan to release an album either in the next year or the next. I have already started working on it with my boyfriend who is a director. It’s going to be really cool to be able to explore this together. We already have a few compositions,” she says.
