Universal controls have been added to macOS 12.3, allowing you to control both your Mac and iPad with a pair of mouse and keyboard.This update includes a new emoji, “Music”Dynamic head trackingIt also includes features and bug fixes for the Mac.
Universal Control (Beta)
- Universal control allows you to operate both iPad and Mac with a pair of mouse and keyboard
- Text input is possible from either Mac or iPad, and files can be dragged and dropped between them.
Spatial audio
- Dynamic head tracking can be used in “Music” when using compatible AirPods on a Mac equipped with an M1 chip
- On a Mac with an M1 chip, you can customize the “off”, “fixed”, and “head tracking” spatial audio settings in the Control Center when using compatible AirPods.
Emoji
- Emoji keyboard allows you to use new emojis such as facial expressions, hand gestures and furnishings
- Handshake emoji allows you to choose different skin tones for each hand
This release also includes the following enhancements for Mac:
- An episode filter has been added to the Podcast App to filter seasons and episodes that have been played, unplayed, saved, or downloaded.
- Safari’s web page translation function supports Italian and Chinese (traditional)
- “Shortcut” supports adding / deleting / searching tags in “Reminder”
- You can add your own memo to the saved password
- Improved battery capacity measurement accuracy
This release also includes the following bug fixes for Mac:
- An issue where audio may sound distorted while watching video in a TV application
- Problems where photos and videos may be unintentionally moved when organizing a “photos” album
