In negotiations for the renewal of their collective agreement, the employees of Beneva, members of the SSQ Life-CSN Office Employees Union, will be on strike on March 14, 15 and 16.
The unionized members have therefore planned to picket for three days in front of the SSQ offices in Quebec and those located in Longueuil.
According to the union, “two other groups of employees affiliated with the CSN have mandates for heavy pressure tactics, which can go as far as a strike”.
“While we are asked to accept salary increases that do not even cover the rise in the cost of living, we learn that other groups of employees are being granted significant company bonuses. For our world, it just does not pass and SSQ (Beneva) must realize that it is not trivial that such a major strike movement is taking place. We deserve better, it’s a question of fairness,” said Chantal Joly, president of the union in a press release.
Three negotiation meetings took place before Beneva made a request for conciliation to the Administrative Labor Tribunal.
