Hertha BSC quickly found a successor following Tayfun Korkut (47) was kicked out. Felix Magath (68) comes until the end of the season and should save Hertha from relegation.
«Felix Magath’s CV speaks for itself. With him we have gained someone who has proven many times that with his immense experience as a trainer in any sporting situation of his kind and his charisma he can make the right adjustments to lead us out of our sportingly challenging situation.” says sporting director Fredi Bobic.
Familiar face in the Bundesliga
For Felix Magath it is a Bundesliga comeback. He was on the sidelines at Wolfsburg until Christmas 2012, and he led Wolves to the championship title in 2009.
Magath says regarding his new job: «I had very clear and open talks with Fredi Bobic. We are all aware of the current sporting situation and I am happy to help Hertha BSC achieve their goal of staying up in the league.”
Hertha is currently in 17th place and thus on a direct relegation zone. Magath: “What’s important now is that everyone is fully focused on the remaining eight games.” (fmu)
