2021 Global true wireless earphone sales AirPods market share exceeds 25%, ranking first

Market research firm Counterpoint Research earlier announced the global sales report of true wireless earphones in 2021. True wireless earphones shipped as many as 300 million sets last year, a 24% increase compared to 2020, while sales rose. 25%; there is a gap with the expected growth rate of the industry, and the analysis indicates that it is related to the continued impact of the epidemic.

Counterpoint Research believes that the growth of true wireless earphones in 2021 will be related to manufacturers adding more features and selling points, such as active noise reduction, increased battery life, and lower pricing. According to the report, Apple continues to be the sales champion of true wireless earphones with a market share of 25.6%, while Xiaomi ranks second with 9%, and Samsung, JBL and Skullcandy are third to fifth.

In terms of price, 36% of true wireless earphones were priced below US$50 last year. As for the products priced between US$50 and US$100, the competition is quite fierce. Manufacturers need to add more functions and improve quality. Among them, Xiaomi and JBL are hot sellers at this price. As for true wireless earphones over $200, they account for 16% of the overall market, but three-quarters of them come from Apple’s AirPods products.
