The Corps of Scientific, Penal and Criminalistic Investigations managed to capture four fake Cantv workerswho entered houses in Caracas to steal.
The criminals posed as employees of the aforementioned telephone company to enter the homes, where they subdued their owners and stripped them of their belongings.
Douglas Rico, general director of the Cicpc, reported through his networks that they arrested the four subjects in the Maternidad Concepción Palacios square, located on San Martin avenue, San Juan parish, Libertador municipality, Caracas.
Those captured were identified as José Farid Londoño Arango (67), nicknamed Junior Cantv, of Colombian nationality, who was usurping the identity of Freddy José Montilla Ramírez. Also Franklin Eduardo Barrios Maldonado (55), who has a high police record for kidnapping, generic robbery, drugs and homicide. Freddy de Jesús Flores (56), nicknamed El Joyero, with records for theft and exploitation. And Pablo José Hernández (68), nicknamed Cheíto, with records for generic theft, vehicle theft, generic theft and drugs.
Rico explained that the modus operandi of the fake Cantv workers was to appear before the victims to verify the breakdowns they had. Once inside the properties, they used a facsimile of a firearm and a knife to subdue them and steal their belongings.
This situation caused anxiety in the community, because they had already committed these crimes on more than 10 occasions.
Among the evidence, a Ford Sierra vehicle and a Chrysler Neon LX were recovered. Also a pen, four cell phones, clothing alluding to Cantv, a knife and a facsimile of a pistol.
The case was placed at the order of the Public Ministry of the Metropolitan Area of Caracas.
