Criticism of the new Minister of Information in Lebanon.. looks like Qardahi

The Lebanese government’s announcement of the appointment of Ziad Makari as Minister of Information to succeed George Kordahi sparked a wave of widespread controversy and objections.

And the communication sites ignited criticism of the Lebanese government, describing it as “revolving in a vicious circle” and did not bring a “less provocative” minister to Saudi Arabia, which is the reason that led to the biggest crisis between Lebanon and the Gulf states, and ousted Qardahi from his position.

The tweeters re-published tweets of the new minister, where he is unsuccessful criticism of Saudi Arabia, and in support of “Hezbollah” and Iran.

Resigned MP Nadim Gemayel said on his Twitter account: “With this era and its governments, moral decadence has become the criterion for appointing ministers!”

In turn, former MP Fares Saeed said: “The appointment of Minister Ziad Makari confirms that there are no fundamental differences within the Christian team supporting Hezbollah, despite some distinctions.”

For his part, the deputy head of the Kataeb Party, former head of the Bar Association, George Greige, said on Twitter: “Ziad Makari does not represent me, neither as a Lebanese, nor as an Arab, nor as a human.”

Saudi tweets had received the news of Ziad Makari’s appointment as Minister of Information in Lebanon with the hashtag “Ziad Makari offends Saudi Arabia”, following it was found that his Twitter account was full of tweets that offend the Kingdom.

On Thursday, the Lebanese Cabinet appointed Ziad Makari as Minister of Information, replacing the resigned Minister, George Kordahi.

Makari’s appointment came following the head of the Marada movement, Suleiman Franjieh, accepted his nomination to succeed Qardahi, in order to preserve his government share, something he had previously refused.

Ziad Makari was born in Zgharta (Northern Lebanon) 1968. He is the son of the former gendarmerie commander Theodore Makari and holds a higher degree in architecture from the University of Balamand – the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts.

He also obtained another degree from the Paris-Belville University of Architecture in the fields of Islamic and Mediterranean architecture.
