Between school, homework, sports, work and household chores, parents and children often have little time to rest. However, teaching your child to slow down his activity can limit anxiety and promote his well-being.
Take time to reduce stress
Doing activities that allow your child to learn a state of calm is essential to help him better manage stress and recover from fatigue. To do this, you can, for example, have fun with manual activities allowing you to create with your hands (finger painting, modeling clay, drawing, games in the sand, etc.) allowing creativity to express itself.
After a session of physical activity, plan a period of relaxation and return to calm with a simple hug or relaxation methods such as stretching, yoga or breathing exercises. At any age there are accessible exercises that he can learn and use when he is anxious or overexcited.
Relax to strengthen attachment
Doing a quiet activity, sometimes with a hug or massage, helps release the bonding hormone oxytocin in both parents and children. While of course all children need daily activity, especially outdoors, taking time to listen to soft music, take a bath or create a relaxing atmosphere will also strengthen the bond.
If you have trouble soothing your child, start by showing him the example by lowering the tone of your voice, slowing down your gestures and possibly offering a hug or caresses on the neck or temples, for example.
