During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the Auchan gas station in Buchelay, one of the busiest in the Mantaise region, was the victim of an incredible computer bug. When it came time to pay, users understood that they had just saved a hundred euros.

A survey to estimate the shortfall
Very quickly, thanks to word of mouth, a crowd formed at the gates of the service station. Everyone took the opportunity to refuel at a low price. Faced with the flow of vehicles, the police were even called around 12:30 a.m. to prohibit access to the premises. A technician arrived half an hour later to restore normal operation of the terminals.
Contacted, the management of Auchan confirms that “the service station was the victim of a computer bug which we regret in the current context ».
Difficult for the moment to estimate the losses for the brand: the specialized teams are still investigating. This service station is equipped with video surveillance. But legally, even if prosecution is theoretically possible, it will be very difficult to implicate these very lucky customers.
At the end of 2019, a mysterious malfunction at the Carrefour de Sartrouville pump had allowed around 150 motorists to refuel without spending a penny.
