Venezuela reaffirms its willingness to continue cooperating with Russia

Venezuela reaffirmed this Thursday, from Turkey, its “ties of friendship” with Russia and the will to deepen strategic cooperation with the Eurasian country, in a meeting in which Vice President Delcy Rodríguez also participated, reported Venezuelan Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia.

“We accompany our executive vice president, Delcy Rodriguez, in a pleasant meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergei Lavrov. We reaffirm our bonds of friendship and the will to deepen our strategic cooperation,” the minister wrote on his Twitter account.

The meeting between the Venezuelan authorities and the Russian foreign minister took place during the Antalya Diplomatic Forum (ADF), Turkey.

At a time when the United States and Europe have applied sanctions once morest Moscow due to its invasion of Ukraine.

Venezuela reviews its bilateral strategic relations

The vice president of Venezuela also said on Twitter that in the meeting with Lavrov they reviewed their “bilateral strategic relations and the complex international scenario.”

«We held a meeting with our good friend Sergei Lavrov. (…) Venezuela it reaffirmed the principle of sovereign equality of States as a way to preserve balance for the sake of peace,” the official said.

The Venezuelan foreign minister was received this Thursday by the Turkish ambassador, Dehar Erpek, in charge of the Antalya Forum.

The event will be held from Friday to March 13, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry reported on its website.
