The BCEAO denies the rumors about a new devaluation of the F.CFA – Le Magazine du Manager


The Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) assured this Thursday in a statement that there is no devaluation of the CFA Franc that certain rumors are circulating.

“The BCEAO formally denies this information and specifies that the exchange rate between the Euro and the F.CFA remains unchanged, namely 1 euro = 655.957 FCFA”, insisted on specifying the sub-regional central bank.

Lately, rumors of devaluation have been relayed on social networks. Fake news that emerged following the rise of consumer products in global markets. And also in relation to the increasingly persistent concerns linked to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, which is receiving numerous economic sanctions.

In view of these disinformation campaigns, the Central Bank of West African States invites the populations “to be extremely vigilant and to refer only to the usual official communication channels of the Institute of episode”.
