Dead Space will be illustrated very soon!
At the very beginning of the week, we were delighted to see that the remake of Dead Space prepared us a nice surprise for this Friday. Indeed, following a series of declarations and interviews within the framework of the beginnings of the communication around this vast project started by the teams of EA Motive, the developers had announced that they would return in 2022 to share the development progress: a bit like they did at the very end of August by presenting the first elements.
Here we are in 2022, and we had to wait three more months for the EA Motive teams to let us know with a communication that was strange to say the least., aiming to announce the next theme that would be addressed during a dedicated presentation. An audio extract that was chilling in the back had been published on Twitter, all accompanied by a date: March 11 from 7 p.m. French time on their YouTube channel. As the link of the video reveals, it will be a question of evoking the sound design of the game and, more particularly, the emphasis placed on the horror aroused by the sound effects of the title.
Concerns regarding this possible postponement?
However, the celebrations might be short-lived, according to Jeff Grubb. The VentureBeat Reportervery close to the subject — we remember that it was he himself who announced that the franchise might make a comeback, on the sidelines of the summer event organized by Electronic Arts —, would have gotten hold of new information that is not very reassuring regarding the release date of the game, which is still unofficial.
So far, many hallway noises have been regarding an exit window set to fall. But, according to Jeff Grubb, this window would have simply been moved by the EA Motive teams who would like to benefit from a few additional months of development.. At the microphone of the GrubbSnax show on Giant Bomb, the journalist made the following comments.
It is likely, from now on, that the game will be released in 2023. It is no longer scheduled for October, but rather for the beginning of 2023 (…) They never said anything publicly, it was just my report mentioning what they were trying to do internally, except that they no longer have this deadline in mind, they are instead moving towards an early 2023 release.
The reasons are countless, there are many, they mainly want the game to be as good as possible (…) They want to make sure that the quality is very good because if the game comes out and it’s a success, this lays the foundation for future success, a remake of Dead Space is the target of very high expectations, especially in terms of sales.
This will clearly not be the subject of the imminent presentation scheduled by EA Motive, but it is reassuring to say that this shift might be beneficial to the development of the title, and that it is above all guided by a desire to do well and to offer optimal quality to players around the world. Anyway, the developers will be able to tell us soon enough what they plan to do with the game’s launch window: let’s trust them!
