Several passengers received a message with terrorist connotations, via Apple’s image sharing system, AirDrop.
“It was from ‘the most beautiful girl in the world’. There are people who accepted it and opened it. There are even a few people who have returned messages,” said one of the passengers on the flight, Sophie Brousseau, in an interview with LCN.
After two hours of anguish and heated arguments on board the plane, the passengers all had to leave the aircraft, taking their personal belongings with them. They were entitled to a physical search and a thorough inspection of their luggage, claims Ms. Brousseau.
The passengers, however, quickly identified those responsible for this incident, says Sophie Brousseau. It would be a group of three young women who were on board the plane.
These were still with the rest of the passengers when the group was returned to the gate following the search.
“The girls were pretty cocky (arrogant). They responded easily,” she says.
Eventually, the local police escorted the three young women out of the terminal, to the applause of the other passengers, says Sophie Brousseau.
“There are people who were very angry, there are people who were really scared. Some were in panic, ”she says.
The latter hopes that sanctions will be imposed on those responsible for this incident.
