Manchester City rotates and validates without problem its place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League

Manchester City have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League following losing 0-0 to Sporting Portugal on Wednesday in the round of 16 second leg.

With their 0-5 first leg victory, Manchester City might turn. Kevin De Bruyne thus took his place on the bench. Without forcing, City created two chances in the first period, Phil Foden (24th) and Raheem Sterling (38th) alerting Antonio Adan. In the second half, a goal from Gabriel Jesus was canceled for offside following intervention by VAR (48th).

Guardiola offered playing time to substitute goalkeeper Scott Carson (36), who came on a quarter of an hour from time. Carson’s last and only appearance at this level of the competition was in April 2005, for Liverpool. The goalkeeper distinguished himself in front of Paulinho, who hit him on his way. Finalist last year, City reached the quarters of the C1 for the fifth year in a row.
