All residents in Hong Kong receive the first dose of the vaccine
The government strives to complete the first dose of vaccination for all residents in Hong Kong within two weeks, that is, before March 18.
Home isolation for asymptomatic or mildly ill elderly
Elderly people with no symptoms or only mild symptoms can be quarantined at home. The government will distribute more abundant anti-epidemic material kits for these elders, including rapid test kits, proprietary Chinese medicines, thermometers and health handbooks. Medical staff take the initiative to call patients to inquire regarding their physical condition, clinical assessment or remote consultation. If necessary, patients will be given priority to hospital.
Closed-loop management of some residential care homes for the elderly and the disabled
The government will provide closed-loop management for some residential homes. Through dedicated hotels and vehicles, caregivers will be allowed to go to work in a closed-loop manner, and are not allowed to go home or enter the community to avoid infecting residents; residential homes that have not yet been infected will take the lead in implementing closed-loop management.
Build elderly isolation and temporary care community facilities
The government will set up more elderly isolation and respite community facilities as soon as possible, so that the elderly with mild or stable conditions can use them and recover under medical supervision. Relevant facilities that have been put into service include more than 1,000 beds, two indoor gymnasiums at Choi Wing Road and Shek Kip Mei refitted respite centers; related facilities to be opened soon include isolation facilities with a total of 1,200 beds at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal and respite center, and 7 indoor gymnasiums that can be converted.
