In Cheongju Sangdang, Chungcheongbuk-do, with 17.79% of the votes counted, People’s Power candidate Jung Woo-taek received 11,932 votes (56.96%), beating independent candidate Kim Si-jin who got 6928 votes (33.07%), and the election is certain.
Candidate Chung, who served as the governor of Chungcheongbuk-do and the 15th, 16th, 19th and 20th four-term National Assembly members, became a fifth-term middle-ranking member of the National Assembly through this election.
In Seoul’s Jongno constituency, which drew attention, candidate Choi Jae-hyung for People’s Power received 8448 votes (43.19%) while 20.43% of the votes were counted, ranking first. In second place is Kim Young-jong, an independent candidate with 7359 votes (37.62%). The gap between the two candidates is 1,089 votes.
In the above three constituencies, the Democratic Party admitted that it was attributable and did not submit candidates.
In Daegu Jung and Nam-gu, where the People’s Power acknowledged the reasons attributable to the nomination, Independent Candidate Lim Byung-hun, a former three-term mayor of Nam-gu, ranked first with 13,620 votes (26.98%). In second place, Baek Soo-beom, the Democratic Party candidate, received 9703 votes (19.22%).
