“Extremely difficult”: an extra denounces the working conditions on the set of the Stromae clip

This Monday, March 7, Stromae unveiled the clip for his new single “Fils de Joie”, taken from his album “Multitude”. If the video is a real hit on Youtube – already more than 2 million views in barely 48 hours – recent revelations, however, darken the picture.

On Facebook, a dancer who participated in the filming of the clip, which took place in January in the Brussels park of the Cinquantenaire, was indignant at the latter’s conditions. She denounces in particular an indecent remuneration (150€ for 5 days of work), planning problems as well as a certain contempt on the part of the organization.

At the microphone of RTBF, the young extra confirmed her words: “We had to be there from 6 a.m. and generally, the day ended around 5 p.m. And that two days in a row. The problem is when you realize what it takes in terms of time, availability, energy, and there, in this case, physical condition, since filming took place in the month of January and that it was regarding 1°C but felt minus 2, knowing that we were not moving”, regret the young woman. “It means that we stay on stage while the cameras pass, as an audience we were static. It was extremely difficult.”

The young dancer, who confides that she left the shoot following two days, also deplores organizational problems, with in particular schedules received at the last minute: “We knew the shooting days, but not the rehearsal days. So for someone who works, it was very uncertain how to organize for this week”. The extra also specifies that she received the information concerning the remuneration only following the result of the casting, “when we were already a bit involved in the project“.
