Thousands of people attended the march for the commemoration of International Women’s Day, organized by the Feminist Coordinator March 8. The coordinator’s spokespersons assured that it was the largest demonstration since the beginning of the pandemic.
As part of the commemoration of the International Women’s Day This March 8, thousands of people gathered in the vicinity of different cities throughout Chile.
According to the 8M Coordinator, this day more than 40 marches were registered in different parts of the country, highlighting that it was the largest mobilization since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
Although most of the day the mobilization was calm, at regarding 7:00 p.m. there were violent incidents in the center of Santiago, where even hooded men clashed with women and made traffic cuts, in addition to erecting barricades.
