Emirates News Agency – “Al Rawabi” establishes a dairy products facility worth 650 million dirhams in Kizad

ABU DHABI, 8th March/WAM/ Kizad, operating under the umbrella of the Economic Cities and Free Zones Sector of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, announced the signing of a leasing agreement with Al Rawabi Company, one of the leading dairy and juice production companies in the United Arab Emirates, to establish a dairy products facility in Abu Dhabi at a cost It is estimated at 650 million dirhams and aims to meet the growing consumer demand for this type of food, and to enhance the capabilities of Al Rawabi Company to export to the GCC region.

The agreement stipulates that Al Rawabi will develop the facility on an area of ​​two square kilometers in the first phase, and allocate an additional area of ​​three square kilometers for future expansion, provided that the farm includes 10,000 cows.

The facilities to be built within the framework of the Al Rawabi Company project in Kizad include cow milking barns, a dairy factory, a workshop for equipment and maintenance, a feed factory, housing for employees and a biogas production plant, in addition to a fertilizer production plant that contributes to supporting the agricultural sector system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in general. More than 200 experienced and qualified employees of Al Rawabi Company will work in this facility.

Al-Rawabi is set to apply the latest technologies in treating the waste generated by the project, in addition to producing green energy from this waste. It significantly lowers operating costs and reduces carbon emissions.

Al Rawabi will benefit from its location adjacent to the regional food market – Abu Dhabi in cooperation with “Ronges”, which was recently launched in Kizad, to be one of the largest centers of its kind in the region for the wholesale trade of diversified foods and allied logistics services.

Abdullah Al Hamli, Head of the Economic Cities and Free Zones Sector, indicated that the great confidence placed by Al Rawabi Company in Kizad confirms the Abu Dhabi Ports Group’s firm commitment to supporting the national strategy for food security in the United Arab Emirates through the support it provides to provide high quality food and dairy products, to As well as contributing to the development of the industrial sector in the country.

He added, “This agreement contributes to developing and supporting local farms’ businesses so that they can provide more job opportunities. It also represents a positive development for regional consumers by facilitating their access to fresh food products.” For his part, Dr. Ahmed El-Tijani, CEO of Al Rawabi Company, said: “Our investment in Kizad’s food system allows us to serve a wider range of consumers in the UAE and the region. The strategic location, ease of access to services for food products, and the availability of land in Kizad all help Al Rawabi aims to develop its long-term operations, expand its presence, and increase its export capabilities across all markets.” He added: “Today, Al-Rawabi Company is in a better position to plan to expand its current share in the markets of the country, the Gulf Cooperation Council and Africa, by taking advantage of the strategic locations enjoyed by Kizad and providing an integrated trade and logistics platform that contributes to facilitating export operations in the country and the region. It is expected that the production capacity of the new project in its first year will be regarding 23 million liters, and that the company will be able to distribute 1,000 containers of products annually.”
