Game news F1 Manager 2022: Frontier Developments (Elite Dangerous) finally unveils its plans!
In March 2020 (yes, that seems extremely far away), Frontier Developments, to which we owe Planet Zoo, Planet Coaster and Elite Dangerous, announced that it had signed a partnership with the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in order to develop management games on the queen category of motor sports.
Since this announcement, Frontier no longer mentioned development at all of the first licensed game corresponding to the partnership. Did we just see a few job offers and did we know that the studio would use the cobra enginebut nothing allowed us to assess the progress of the development and therefore to estimate a release date or to consider a presentation.
Become the new boss of the greatest team in the history of Formula 1!
Just over two years following that initial announcement, Frontier and the FIA unveil F1 Manager 2022which, unsurprisingly, will invite players to manage, develop and bring to the top of the Formula 1 teams. Players will need to control all aspects from the team, from the development of the single-seater to the factories, including the contracts of the drivers, their performance and budgets. Once the cars are on the track, it will be necessary adopt the right strategy to earn maximum points and one day hope to win the drivers’ and constructors’ championships. Ross BrawnManaging Director of Formula 1 – Motorsports, commented on the announcement:
