One of the most important literary works built on the life of Diomedes Diaz is ‘La eternal parranda’, written by Alberto Salcedo Ramos who, moreover, carried out a journalistic display for several years to find the whereregardings of the artist, and in the midst of his musings, he imagined what he would say when he learned that there is a chronicler wanting to ask him questions that, until now, few had dared to ask him.

“By granting him a couple of hours of my agenda – wrote Salcedo with the mind of Diomedes – the Fulano might lead me with his questions to a thorny terrain. You might ask me, for example, why Doris Adriana Niño died while she was with me in the private apartment that Sony Music provided me in Bogotá, and it was found dumped as mere rubbish in a vacant lot on the outskirts of Tunja, a hundred and fifty kilometers away.

Or who came up with the Machiavellian plan to make the prostitutes of a brothel in that city claim the body to bury it as if it were a needy victim of their guild”, and other inconsistencies that remained in a pandora’s box that was forgotten by many and buried by others over the years. HoweverNetflix will be in charge of reviving the crime that, almost 25 years later, continues to generate controversy as it is surrounded more by doubts than by certainties.

‘Diomedes: The idol, the mystery and the tragedy’, is the first of four documentaries that the platform plans to make in Colombia and that will be in charge of highlighting the artistic part of the Cacique de La Junta; how he became one of the most important music artists in Colombia and what -or who- he was inspired to compose songs like ‘El gavilán mayor’ (a song that has its origins in the marimbera bonanza), and ‘My boy’ , among other.

But in parallel, it opens an episode that, for many, is not completely closed: the case of Doris Adriana Niño and the different versions of what happened in 1997, the year in which the singer’s career had more downs than ups, because following his arrest warrant in the framework of the investigations, he hid from the authorities, in a fact that has generated many theories regarding who was guarding him back then.

The amorous and flirtatious Diomedes, but the one also implicated in the murder, will be the protagonists of the documentary whose first trailer was shared this Tuesday by Netflix Latin America and where it is evident that they collected voices of people very close to the artist, such as Joaco Guillén, Jorge Barón and Rafael Santos Díaz, among others.

Regarding its release date, the advance indicates that the documentary will be released on March 30, which, in the same way, includes excerpts from statements delivered by Diomedes himself in which he refers to the young woman’s crime in an evasive manner. and reiterating that he had nothing to do with her death.

Next, see the trailer of the footage that was produced by Dynamo Producciones and that had the production of Jorge Durán and Jaime Barbosa, as well as the production of Natalia Echeverry, Andrés Calderón and Jorge Durán. Finally, this documentary lasts one hour and forty minutes and collects, in addition to various voices, bibliographical and press resources where it is reported that what happened to Doris Adriana Niño was a murder which, a quarter of a century later, continues to raise many questions.
