The world’s largest arms factory
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two companies in October 2021 regarding the construction of the drone. The new drones will be built by Saudi Arabia under the name Sky Guardian. The plan is to become a center of world-class weapons technology by building state-of-the-art drones. He added that they aim to set up the world’s largest arms factory in Saudi Arabia through the localization of defense industries.
Half of the required weapons will be made in Saudi Arabia
At least half of the weapons currently purchased from foreign countries are planned to be made locally by next year. He hopes that by 2030, the Saudi Arabian military industry will be one of the top 25 arms manufacturers in the world. Last year was a year of achievements for the company. Last year, the company was able to build 2200 new Avante warships for the Saudi Royal Navy.
World Defense Exhibition in Riyadh
This year’s World Defense Show was inaugurated yesterday in Riyadh by Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the General Authority for Military Industries. More than 590 companies from 42 countries are participating in the show. Apart from this, various government agencies related to the defense sector have also come to the show. The Crown Prince visited the pavilions of the Defense Show and praised Saudi achievements in the field of defense.
